What KPIs Are We Measuring
In Genezio, two core KPIs are used to evaluate how your brand performs in AI-generated answers:
- AI Recommendations
- AI Visibility
These KPIs answer different questions and should be read together.
AI Recommendations
AI Recommendations is a percentage.
It measures how often your brand is actively recommended in conversations where it appeared. The denominator is conversations where your brand was visible — making this a conversion rate from presence to recommendation.
AI Recommendations helps you understand whether answer engines trust your brand enough to suggest it as a solution when users ask for one.
AI Visibility
AI Visibility is a percentage.
It measures the percentage of eligible conversations where your brand appears in AI-generated answers.
This includes cases where your brand is:
- mentioned
- listed in recommendations
- included in comparisons
AI Visibility gives a broader view of how often your brand is present in AI answers across relevant conversations.
Where These KPIs Come From
Both metrics are brand-level measurements, calculated from Prompter and Recommender conversations — the two agent types where the AI chooses which brands to surface on its own.
The Comparer and Introspector agents serve different purposes. The Comparer is a competitive analysis tool that uses your brand's metrics to show how you stack up against specific competitors. The Introspector analyzes how AI describes your brand. Neither contributes to the calculation of AI Recommendations or AI Visibility.
How These KPIs Work Together
Use both metrics together:
- AI Recommendations tells you how often answer engines actively recommend your brand when it appears in a conversation.
- AI Visibility tells you how often your brand appears at all in eligible conversations.
A brand may have high visibility but a lower recommendation rate, or the opposite. Reading both KPIs together gives a more complete view of AI performance.
