Genezio API Rate Limits: 200 Requests a Minute | Genezio

This page explains the rate limit of the Genezio API. Each API key can send 200 requests in one minute. A token of the key counts against the same key.

The rate limit headers

Each answer has the headers of the limit:

Header	Meaning
`X-RateLimit-Limit`	The requests of one minute: `200`.
`X-RateLimit-Remaining`	The requests that remain in this minute.
`X-RateLimit-Reset`	The seconds until the minute ends.

What occurs when you send too many requests

The request after the limit gets 429 with the code rate_limited, and the Retry-After header gives the seconds to wait:

HTTP/1.1 429 Too Many Requests
Retry-After: 23
X-RateLimit-Limit: 200
X-RateLimit-Remaining: 0
X-RateLimit-Reset: 23

Good practice for the rate limit

Read X-RateLimit-Remaining, and send fewer requests before it gets to 0.
After a 429, wait for Retry-After seconds, then try again.
Ask for a whole range in one report, in place of one request for each day.
